2. Buy, or work for traffic that costs you less money than conversion factor. On a an average you will make 1-2 sales per 100 people to your site. It is dependent on your product and price too. But this rule should generally hold. So if you spend $25 for this traffic and you get $29 per sale you are in green.
3. Make the sales process as easy as possible, do not ask too many questions before sale.
4. During the 3 steps above, ask and get a visitors email .
5. Start a newsletter and send the emails interesting information, you can try selling them something every 5th mail or so.

Obviously you know what it is and want to get info on how to do it but just for a basic definition: Affiliate Marketing is where you market another vendors product to customers and when these customers click on the link that is on your site and go to the vendor site and make a purchase you receive a commission for the sale.
I can’t tell you where to go in the answer portion of Yahoo Answers because the community rules forbid it but if you go to the source information below you can go to a place where it will tell you how to set up an affiliate marketing business and also has information in e-books about how to market online. If you research enough there is a lot of free info on the subject but I have found that the one’s you buy have more detail but don’t shy away from the free stuff it does help. The main thing is take your time and get all the facts. It all seems scary in a sense but that is just because you will be going from not knowing anything to gaining the knowledge and understanding to do affiliate marketing.
