Will participating in affiliate marketing violate F-1 Visa terms for an International Student?
I am currently an international student studying in California under an F-1 Visa. A friend of mine asked me to take part in affiliate marketing with him but I am not sure whether this is permissible under F-1 Visa requirements in the United States. Can someone help me please?
Legally, I do not think you are allowed to do so. You certainly cannot accept checks from an Affiliate.
If your friend would incorporate, and provide some type of service to the student body (ie: computer help) in addition to affiliate marketing you may be able to accept payment from his corporation.
It is somewhat doubtful that the USCIS would approve something like that.
My advice? Help your friend out, and have him buy you beer, food, books, etc.
